From 1909 through 1931, A. J. Stevens & Co. Ltd was a British vehicle and motorcycle manufacturer. Joe Stevens created the firm in Wolverhampton, England. Matchless, Associated Motorcycles, and Norton-Villiers continued to use the brand on four-stroke motorcycles until 1969, and after the name's resale in 1974, on lightweight two-stroke scramblers, and presently on small-capacity roadsters and cruisers.
