Bryn Mawr Classical Review

Most Common

The Bryn Mawr Classical Review (BMCR) was launched in 1990 as an open access journal. It presents scholarly assessments of recent work in the field of ancient studies, particularly classical archaeology. This is the second-oldest online scholarly publication in the humanities. It offers free subscriptions to both online and print publications. The selling of Bryn Mawr Commentaries is the only source of revenue for the journal. Many volunteer submissions are received by the journal, and its editors keep an online list of things that need to be examined for people who are interested. Bryn Mawr's electronic resource review, which consists of reviews of non-print classical scholarly literature, is also available online. Those reviews, however, have not yet been indexed.
