Condition

The term "condition" has a number of biomedical meanings including the following:An unhealthy state, such as in "this is a progressive condition."A state of fitness, such as "getting into condition."Something that is essential to the occurrence of something else; essentially a "precondition."As a verb: to cause a change in something so that a response that was previously associated with a certain stimulus becomes associated with another stimulus; to condition a person, as in behavioral conditioning.

Program instructions. Source code consists of human-readable statements written by a programmer in a programming language. Machine code consists of numeri-cal instructions that the computer can recognize and execute and that were converted from source code. Also data, program. A system of symbols used to convert informa-tion from one form to another. A code for converting infor-mation in order to conceal it is often called a cipher.

Chain

Surveyors' unit of length in the Imperial system. Gunter's chain, named after its inventor, comprises 22 yards or 66 feet, approximately 20.117 metres. Gunter's chain is useful for deriving areas in acres. The lesser-known Engineer's chain, 100 feet long, was used for measuring linear distances, along roads for example.

Connector

A device providing electrical connection/disconnections. It consists of a mating plug and receptacle. Various types of connectors include DIP, card edge, two-piece, hermaphroditic and wire-wrapping configurations. Multiple contact connectors join two or more conductors with others in one mechanical assembly.
