Don Drysdale

Don Drysdale was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1956 to 1969. He spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, both in Brooklyn and in Los Angeles.

Drysdale was known for his powerful fastball and his fierce competitiveness on the mound. He won 209 games in his career, with a career earned run average (ERA) of 2.95. He was a member of the Dodgers team that won the World Series in 1959, and he was a six-time All-Star and a three-time National League (NL) Cy Young Award winner.

In addition to his playing career, Drysdale was also a successful broadcaster and commentator. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984, and his number 53 was retired by the Dodgers.
