What does DECON stand for?

Decontamination

The removal of unwanted hazardous contamination by a chemical or mechanical process. The process of making any person, object, or area safe by absorbing, destroying, neutralizing, making harmless, or removing chemical or biological agents, or by removing radioactive material clinging to or around it. A process used to reduce, remove, or neutralize radiological, chemical, or biological contamination to reduce the risk of exposure.
