Drop Zone

Drop Zone (DZ) is a designated area where players must take their next shot after encountering a penalty situation in golf or disc golf. Drop zones are used for scenarios such as:

- Water hazards (penalty strokes apply).

- Out-of-bounds (OB) rulings, where the DZ provides a relief option.

- Casual obstacles that prevent fair play (like ground under repair).

In golf, DZ areas are marked to ensure players resume play fairly after hazards. In disc golf, DZ spots are placed strategically near obstacles or mandatory routes, requiring players to throw from the specified location instead of their previous lie.
