Monopropylene glycol (MPG) is the most widely used, and is found in cosmetics, foods, pharmaceuticals and laundry detergents, as well as substituting for monoethylene glycol in anti-freeze formulations where lower toxicity is required or chiefly to make unsaturated polyester resins used in fibreglass composites for construction applications.
