Any resistance to movement between two objects places in contact with each other. The resisting force tangential to the common boundary between two bodies when under the action of an external force one body moves or tends to move relative to the surface of the other. Resistance to motion due to contact of surfaces. Friction is the resistance found at the duct and piping walls.
