Firmware

Firmware is a software program or set of instructions programmed on a hardware device. It provides the necessary instructions for how the device communicates with the other computer hardware. But how can software be programmed onto hardware? Good question. Firmware is typically stored in the flash ROM of a hardware device. While ROM is "read-only memory," flash ROM can be erased and rewritten because it is actually a type of flash memory.

Firewall

Firewall is a film or a protecting sheet in interior for preventing the fire and heat inside the vehicle. A network configuration, typically both hardware and software, that prevents unauthorized traffic into and out of a secure network. A fire-resistant bulkhead that isolates the engine from other parts of an airplane's structure. 1. In communication, a functional unit that protects and controls the connection of one network to other networks. The firewall prevents unwanted or unauthorized communication traffic from entering the protected network and allows only selected communication traffic to leave the protected network.
