Hill Hold Assist

Hill Hold Assist (HHA) is a feature designed to prevent a vehicle from rolling backwards when starting on an incline. This technology is particularly beneficial in manual transmission cars, where the driver must coordinate the clutch and accelerator to move forward without stalling. By automatically maintaining brake pressure for a short period after the brake pedal is released, HHA gives the driver enough time to switch from the brake to the accelerator without the car rolling back.

The system is activated when the car is stopped on a hill, and it detects the incline using sensors. Once engaged, it holds the brake pressure for about two seconds, or until the driver presses the accelerator, ensuring a smooth and safe start. This feature not only enhances safety but also reduces wear on the clutch and transmission components, making it a valuable addition to modern vehicles, especially in hilly urban environments.
