North Vietnam

North Vietnam, officially the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV), was a country in Southeast Asia which existed from 1945 to 1976. It was established in the aftermath of the August Revolution, which overthrew French colonial rule. The country was led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and fought against South Vietnam and the United States during the Vietnam War.

The DRV was known for its guerrilla warfare tactics and the Ho Chi Minh Trail, a logistical network that supplied troops and materials to the Viet Cong in South Vietnam. Despite heavy bombing campaigns by the U.S., North Vietnam's resilience and strategic victories, such as the Tet Offensive, played a crucial role in the eventual withdrawal of American forces and the reunification of Vietnam under communist rule in 1976.
