Middle East Technical University or shortly METU (English: Middle East Technical University, shortly METU) is a state university established in Ankara on November 15, 1956 by the then Prime Minister of Turkey Adnan Menderes, General Manager of Highways Vecdi Diker and a group of academics. Except for the Marine Sciences Institute in Mersin and the METU NCC (Northern Cyprus Campus) in the TRNC, all its buildings are on the same campus. The language of instruction of the university, which has graduated over 120 thousand students, is English.
