A resin or plastic, usually thermosetting, made by condensation of a phenol with an aldehyde and used for molding, insulating, coatings and adhesives. A synthetic resin used in the manufacture of some industrial finishes. The generic name for phenolformaldehyde thermosetting plastic that's molded or cast. A type of resin made from a condensation reaction of phenols and aldehydes. Resultant films have a high degree of chemical resistance with limited flexibility properties.
