The vertically oriented movable control surface used to yaw the aircraft. Movable control surface, attached to trailing-edge of fin, to control aircraft movement in yaw. The movable part of a vertical airfoil which controls the YAW of an aircraft; the fixed part being the FIN. A control surface on the trailing edge of the vertical part of the tail that is used to make the aircraft yaw. The rudder is controlled by rudder pedals. Pushing the left rudder pedal will tilt the rudder to the left.
