What does SHID stand for?

Shield

Device surrounding that portion of a connector that is used for attaching wires or cables to shield against electromagnetic interference, and/or protect connector wires or cable from mechanical damage. In cables, that metallic layer applied over the dielectric or group of dielectrics, composed of woven braided, or served wires, foil wrap or tubular metallic construction to prevent elecrostatic or electromagnetic interference between the enclosed wires and external fields.
