Speech-Language Pathologist

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), also known as a Speech Therapist, is a healthcare professional who specializes in the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with people of all ages who have difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.

Speech-language pathologists evaluate and diagnose communication disorders, including developmental delays, language disorders, speech sound disorders, voice disorders, stuttering, and aphasia, among others. They also evaluate and treat swallowing disorders, including difficulties with chewing and swallowing food and liquid safely.
