- Werdnig-Hoffmann A form of spinal amyotrophy transmitted in an autosomal recessive manner with a very early appearance, characterized by great muscular hypotonia and flaccid paralysis. There are swallowing disorders due to the spinal bulb and a disorder of the intercostal respiratory muscles. Evolution is quickly fatal.
