In a federated system, the mechanism that the federated server uses for operations such as connecting to a data source and retrieving data from it. To implement a wrapper, the federated server uses routines stored in a library called a wrapper module. An alternate and supported interface that hides unsupported data types required by a server object behind a thin intermediate server object.
